Employment-Based Immigration
The first preference of the EB (employment-Based) categories is the EB-1, which grants the green card and, consequently, the right to permanent residence in the United States for qualified foreign professionals.
EB-1 — Extraordinary Ability
For professionals at the top of their fields, the EB-1 category is designed for individuals who demonstrate extraordinary ability through sustained national or international recognition. It is ideal for leaders, innovators, researchers, executives, and artists with proven excellence.
EB-2 — Advanced Degree
The EB-2 category is for professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability whose work benefits the United States. Through the National Interest Waiver, applicants may qualify without a job offer if their contributions are deemed of national importance.
EB-3 — Skilled Workers & Professionals
The EB-3 category supports skilled workers, professionals, and other qualified individuals with permanent job offers in the United States. It is a common pathway for those with practical expertise and employer sponsorship.
EB-4 — Special Immigrants
The EB-4 category applies to certain special immigrants, including religious workers and individuals in specific humanitarian or institutional roles. Eligibility is based on defined statutory classifications and unique service-based criteria.
EB-5 — Immigrant Investors
The EB-5 program grants permanent residence to foreign investors who make qualifying investments in U.S. businesses that create jobs. It is a strategic option for entrepreneurs seeking residency through economic contribution.
